Happy 1st Day of August!!
I guess I can truthfully call myself a professional writer 🙂 I published my first book back in 2009, a poetry book. I used Lulu back then. Priced it at $3. I told my family and my friends…..not one of them bought my book but a girl that I befriended in an online forum bought a copy :-). I published my first non-fiction book back in Aug of 2012. I still sell copies of that book today :-).
After a year long hiatus, give or take a few months, I am officially back!
When I saw this planner I got soooo excited to start my new year! (my writing year :-)) These are not the best pics but you can see the cover which reminds me of peace & tranquility…a beautiful sunset on the beach mmmm how I would love to have that beautiful view right now….I love that it starts right at August 1st which I’d already ordained as the beginning of my 12 month publishing year 🙂 I like the page with all the days of the months which will make it easy for me to cross off each day as I complete the Seinfeld Don’t Break The Chain Challenge (I’ll do another post to describe what this is in case you don’t know). And then you have the page where you can write notes for each day. In that area I intend to write my word count for that day and the things that I did to move my business forward. So this planner is my business planner.
I’ve never really been a daily planner type girl but this one pulled me to it and I’m just excited about it. I don’t know if I’m excited to finally get back to pursuing my writing career or if I just really like this planner or what it is but….I feel good about this new chapter in my life.
I feel that I’m more informed about self-publishing, and writing and I’m more mature in my expectations in regards to my success in this field. Fiction writing/creative writing has always been a part of me since I was a teenager. I honestly feel that I’ve been running on a hamster wheel the last 4 years due to expectations and disappointments & lack of consistency. I am fortunate enough to be a part of a great group of fiction authors, very knowledgeable about the industry and they have had a lot of success & one key thing about all of them is the fact that they are failing forward.
So today is the start of creating new habits….better habits so that I can change my circumstances. I’m also changing my diet, no gluten, no dairy, & limited sugar for the next 90 days (I will incorporate cheat days when I’m on vacay if I go on vacay within these 90 days because gluten & dairy doesn’t have the same effect on my body in other places outside of NY….who knows why ha!).
I desire to be a full-time healthy, prosperous entrepreneur (physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually & financially), successfully, easily & effortlessly, sustaining myself daily as I do now with my 9-5 job.
If I want to see a different result in my life then I have to do something different.
Until next time,
